Puzzle PSA

This humane society displays a well executed PSA for adopting a dog. It displays life like a puzzle and not having a dog is like missing a puzzle piece to complete your overall puzzle. I feel that this PSA is very strong and unique allowing me to remember this PSA well after seeing it, having it stick in the viewer's mind is a very good thing to acquire with your photo making your message heard and remembered.

Pedigree

This PSA displays a dog behind a fence/ in a cage wanting to find a home. Pedigree does a great job at selecting a photo were the dog seems to grab the viewer's attention with its eyes. You can feel the emotion present in this photo. Pedigree uses their signature yellow coloring of their packaging to display in their information's typeface. Drawing attention to the information, then leading to the dog and then to the bottom with all of the company information.

Doggie Paddle

These are some fun photos of dogs as they jump into the water, catching their expressions
as they enter the water to retrieve a toy. They also used a similar photo for this add. Playing with the fact that the hot sauce is so hot that the only way of curing it is to jump into a pool. The look on the dogs' faces are priceless and well shot.

Before and After

This photo went through various different stages to become an edited piece. You can see that the overall photo is lightened, the levels are brighter and clean. There seems to have been a blurring of her skin to hide lines and imperfections. Her eyes were brightened to show off her brown coloring. Her lips look healthier with a overlay of a bright pink. The after photo looks a lot better from the original but it's not overly done wich is hard to find in magazines with celebrities.

Flu PSA

A creative way of displaying a PSA for the flu. This appears to be a black and white photo, but then again looks desaturated instead. I feel as though the type in this ad isn't strong enough to get the message across. Maybe if they tried different colors and typefaces they can find one that would grab the attention of viewers and stick with them after seeing this PSA.

WWF PSA

These PSA's for WWF are photo heavy and pack a lot into one photo. They show endangered animals in their natural environments. Using the tagline "Be the voice, for those who have no voice". Showing that animals need our help and that they can't communicate their problems and when they need help. These photos show emotion and help the viewer connect with the animal hopefully inspiring them to help out.

Work Safe PSA

This PSA focuses on the workplace and how it can harm someone. The title for this add is "Work Safe", meaning we all need to stay alert in the work place and to ask question if we are unsure of something.  This PSA is very photo strong, showing the work environment he was most likely in when he was injured. Focusing on his injury showing details and coloring changes of the skin. The focus starts with the quote, travels to the arm and then finishes off with the information at the bottom which is very affective.

Helmet PSA

This public service announcement is a good play on showing what happens to your head/ brain when not wearing proper head coverings when riding a bike. The photo manipulation on this photo demonstrates a good and clear vision of what could happen when not wearing a helmet.

Levels and Cropping

This photo only needed minor changes to make it a great photo. Cropping the image to make this subject more in focus and in vision. Then going in the doing levels on the babies skin, brightening up the skin overall and giving it a little glow. Then it appears that the eyes were brightened in the "after" photo.

Decay Look

The editing that went into this photo is way over the top, the common editing looks like it had been done. Then they went farther and created bruises, blood, decay looking skin, etc. The coloring in this photo fits really well with the vibe they were going for with their subject.

Retouching Madonna's Photo

This photo shows that celebrities aren't as flawless as we think and that we come to believe from advertisements. A lot of editing went into this photos to make her look younger and more attractive/ eye pleasing. Her wrinkles were deleted and blur to make her skin look younger and rejuvenated. They added a slight tanning color to her skin to give her a more alive hint. They cropped out unnecessary parts in the photo to help focus attention on her and not the background. They blackened the background to get rid of the harsh shadows and wall coloring behind her.

Underwater Photography

http://www.frazierproductions.com/

This photographer specializes in underwater photography. Captivating his subject in an environment that is very uncommon compared to everyday photos. He made his subject pop in this photo, putting her in a yellow dress to match her surrounding subjects (fish). The gradient in the photos background is very nicely done in this photo, although her foot is lost in the water which seems and looks odd.

Todd Owyoung Music Photography

http://www.ishootshows.com/

Todd Owyoung takes photos in concert setting and in regular settings. He is able to make his photos clear and in focus in dark settings were the subject moves around in a fast pace. He is able to get great lighting on his subjects, he may or may not be using a flash but it works well in his photos and doesn't take away from the photos highlights.

Mike Ruiz Photography

Mike Ruiz's photography is used in various different medias, mostly for celebrity clients. He captures pictures to use for TV ads, music/ cd covers, magazine covers and articles, and fashion photography. He work is a little over edited, yes his photos are clear and the concept are unique but the photos feel fake and over thought out. If they were less "fake", less over posed , the subject would seem more real and genuine. We all think celebrities are fake in the first place, why play that up?

Maggie Cochran Photography

This photographer takes wonderful shots, using her subjects and background effectively in her photos. She could use some levels work on this little girl because the background feel sharper and more in control than the subject is at the moment. If she were to blur the background and/or darken it a few her subject would pop. Then change the levels to brighten the midtones on the little girl this photo would be more effective.

Jessie Patterson Photography

This photographer works with natural light to capture her images. Some of her photos shown could use some loving in photoshop. For one her header photo seems pulled and squished to fit in that paper tape box displayed. If you scroll down to her newborn photos they could use some touch up work to the levels, lighting, and red splotchy marks on the babies skin. Using a low leveled airbrush on the red mark will make the baby seem more clean and healthy looking (no on wants the focus to be on red patches on a newborn's skin). Also the babies eyes (when opened) can use some levels work to show off those cute baby eyes we all love.

Fine Portraiture By Michele

http://www.fineportraiturebymichele.com/

Michele is a fine photographer, I remember getting my senior photos taken by her. She is very nice and personable. She focus on posing you to fit your personality and comfort zone. Some photos come out better than other being that some are indoors and some are outdoors. The proofs are just like any other photographer can take but the final results are well lit and corrected. I felt that my black and white photos from her were the strongest out of all of them. Her grayscale was well manipulated and her levels were very crisp. I would say some of her photos (like the ones infront of the white backdrop) have spot that are very blown out or subjects that look very dark because of this.

Jake Gan Photography

This photographer mainly focuses on women models and putting them into different environments. The environments he put them in are both beautiful and dark. He places them in these photos to tell small stories and achieve his overall vision for the shoot. His focal point in this photo is hidden behind blurred cherry blossoms giving the photo depth and a unique twist on photographing with cherry blossoms.

Ryan Muirhead Photography

This photographer takes both black and white and color photos. I find his black and white photos to be the strongest and well done. His white and blacks are precise and crisp. They are sharp and display all that needs to be focused on. He mostly photographs people, but i feel like he could turn any photo into an amazing black and white piece.

Michelle Monique Photography

This photographer take simple photos and turns them into wonderful photo manipulations. The photos in which she starts out with aren't the greatest of quality but you could never tell with how well they turn out after her hours of editing.

Photography by Jenni

This photographer went a little too heavy on this paintbrush tool.... definitely needs to cut back on the opacity and bright/solid coloring. The photo probably would have been better off before the editing. She really needs to spend more time in photoshop learning what works well and what doesn't work at all.

W Photography

This photographer displays a lot of photos side by side like this one above. Where one is black and white and the other is in color. Definitely shows how diverse this photographer photos are. Some photos need better levels tweaking otherwise very nice photos.

U&G Photography

This event photographer really takes what he has given to him (lighting, props, areas/locations) and creates nice photos. This photo gives an older glamor feel. The lighting is present and not overbaring. I love the blurry object around the focused main subject. Showing that everything in the photo doesn't need to be in focus and showing.

Time After Time Photography

So this "photographer" needs to understand his camera better to capture the photos he desires. His photos are dark, blurry, out of focus, and some are oddly cropped. I believe if he spent more time on his camera skills he could achieve better photos.

Michelle Zahn Photography

This local photographer uses great concepts and ideas to show her subjects in a natural and simple way. She gets her subjects comfortable infront of her lens. Some of her photos could use adjustments in lighting and brightness of the photos. The harsh shadow on this women's face takes away from this strong photo.

Kelly Michelle Photography

Kelly Michelle's Photography has vast selection on amazing photos. Her ideas for posing her subject really sets a comfortable feel. They look natural and not forcefully posed. She focuses on the subject and limits her background space. Some of her black and white photos are a little over brightened on the subject's face were you lose details such as cheek bones, the nose, and smile lines. Also I am not a fan of her black backdrop behind subjects wearing black, the floating heads are a little creepy. I would suggest another backdrop to place them infront of.

Thomas Walker Photography

Thomas seems to use the faded effect way too often, he doesn't use it in every photo but most of his photos contain this quality making it over used and unwanted. Also he uses the light in some photos to his advantage but then like in this photo the harsh shadows in this photo on his face and behind him really create a tension on this subject and take away from what can be a great photo.

Yasmina Cowan Photography

http://www.yasminacowan.com/

Yasmina Cowan seems to know her way around a camera very well. Her lighting in her photos work well for each photo. Some are a little overly bright but it works for some of the photos to have a blown white area in the photo. Her subjects seem comfortable and naturally posed for the most part. Her concepts and angles show her years of experience and ability to look at a photo/ subject in a different way.

Margo Page Photography

This photographer doesn't keep constant using levels throughout her photos. Some photo look as if she hadn't messed with the levels at all and then others have great level workings. The eyes in this photo seem a little overdone with the sharpness and brightness are over controlling in this photo taking away from the overall photo.

Lovefusion Photography

This photographer has great photo ideas and potential, but I feel as if she over edits her photos. Her eyes look amazing but you loose her nose with how exposed and bright her face is in this photo. Also her arm looks a totally different color from the rest of her body. I would suggest working in the levels to make sure her nose is still visible and for her arm to be in the same color range as her face and back arm. Also, I like the focus in the subject with a very blurred background that works well in this photo.
